Ingredients
Muffin Batter

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 tbsp baking powder

¾ cup brown sugar

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ground ginger

¼ tsp each: cardamom, allspice, cloves

½ tsp salt

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

¼ cup vegetable oil

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1¼ cups peeled, chopped pears (Bartlett, Bosc, or Anjou)
Oatmeal Streusel Topping

¾ cup rolled oats
-
½ cup whole wheat flour

½ cup brown sugar

1½ tsp cinnamon
-
½ cup melted butter
Optional Vanilla Honey Butter

½ cup softened butter
-
2 tbsp honey
½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line muffin tin with paper liners.

Make streusel: Combine oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Chill.

Mix dry ingredients: Combine both flours, baking powder, sugar, spices, and salt.

Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk milk, oil, egg, and vanilla.

Combine wet and dry mixtures, then fold in chopped pears.

Fill muffin cups ¾ full, top with streusel.

Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Serve warm with optional vanilla honey butter.
Notes

Pears should be ripe but firm and finely chopped for best texture.

Streusel topping can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
