Description

For the sweet potato base:

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 3 large sweet potatoes)

  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

For the pecan topping:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup chopped pecans


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.

  2. Make the sweet potato mixture: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, maple syrup, milk, butter, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until smooth.

  3. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared dish.

  4. Make the topping: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and chopped pecans. Mix until crumbly.

  5. Sprinkle topping evenly over the sweet potato base.

  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until topping is golden and the casserole is set.

  7. Cool slightly before serving.

  • For extra creaminess, add 2 oz of cream cheese to the sweet potato mixture.
