Description

A mouthwatering sweet-and-savory chicken dish glazed with maple syrup, bourbon, and crunchy pecans. Perfect for cozy dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup

  • ¼ cup bourbon

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ cup chopped pecans

  • Optional: Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper on both sides.

  • Sear chicken in olive oil (in an oven-safe skillet) over medium-high heat until golden (about 3–4 minutes per side).

  • In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, bourbon, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and paprika.

  • Pour glaze over chicken, then sprinkle with chopped pecans.

  • Dot with butter and transfer skillet to the oven.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes or until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally.

 

  • Spoon glaze over chicken before serving. Garnish with herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For alcohol-free version: Substitute bourbon with apple cider or chicken broth + a splash of apple cider vinegar.

  • Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness, adjusting bake time as needed.

  • Goes great with mashed sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, or wild rice.
