Ingredients

- 6 –8 fresh peaches (peeled and sliced (or canned peaches, drained))
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp cornstarch (to thicken the filling)
- For the Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional Toppings:
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (for caramelized crispness)
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Peaches:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a bowl. Let sit for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Batter:
- Melt butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish in the oven.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly add milk and vanilla, stirring until smooth.
- Assemble the Cobbler:
- Pour the batter directly over the melted butter — don’t stir.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly on top.
- Bake:
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- For a crispier topping, sprinkle brown sugar on top before baking.
- Serve:
