A festive and flavorful holiday side dish combining sweet potatoes, cranberries, and apples with warm spices. Creamy, slightly tart, and beautifully golden after the second bake—perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Ingredients

4 medium sweet potatoes

1 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), diced

½ cup cranberries (fresh or dried)

3 tbsp butter (or coconut oil)

2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

Pinch of ground cloves

¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Salt, to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Scrub and pierce sweet potatoes; bake 45–55 minutes until tender.

Halve potatoes lengthwise and scoop flesh into a bowl, leaving skins intact.

Mash flesh with butter, spices, sugar/maple syrup. Stir in apples, cranberries, and half the nuts.

Spoon mixture back into skins. Sprinkle with remaining nuts.

Return to oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, until golden.

Use fresh cranberries for tartness or dried cranberries for sweetness.
