Description

A rich, buttery, and crunchy holiday favorite, this Classic Christmas Toffee is topped with chocolate and chopped nuts — perfect for gifting or festive snacking!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 cup chopped almonds or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  • Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.

  • Add sugar and salt, stirring constantly until mixture turns golden brown and reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).

  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

  • Pour toffee onto the baking sheet and spread evenly.

  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee, let sit 2 minutes, then spread melted chocolate.

  • Top with chopped nuts (optional).

  • Let cool completely (refrigerate for faster setting).

 

  • Break into pieces and enjoy!
