No-bake buckeye bars are a simplified version of Ohio’s iconic buckeye candy, made with a creamy peanut butter base and topped with a rich chocolate layer. Perfect for holidays, potlucks, and everyday cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2½ cups confectioners’ sugar

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter

  • ½ cup melted butter or margarine

  • ½ cup brown sugar (optional, for extra richness)

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Melt chocolate chips using a double boiler or microwave.

  • Pour and spread melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer.

  • Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes until set.

  • Slice into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easier removal.

  • For a firmer bar, add an extra ½ cup of powdered sugar.
