Description

Chewy, buttery blondies infused with nutty brown butter, spiced apples, and topped with a silky glaze. A cozy fall dessert that tastes like caramel-apple meets blondie bar.

For Spiced Apples

  • 2 cups apples, peeled & diced (Granny Smith or Jonagold)

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

For Blondie Batter

  • 1 cup brown butter (cooled)

  • 2⅓ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1⅔ cups brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract

For Glaze

  • ¼ cup brown butter

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar

  • 2 tbsp milk

  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Brown the butter: Melt butter in saucepan, cook until golden brown and nutty. Cool slightly.

  2. Cook apples: Sauté diced apples with maple syrup and cinnamon until just tender. Let cool.

  3. Mix batter: Whisk brown butter and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, then dry ingredients. Fold in apples.

  4. Bake: Spread in greased 9×13 pan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 min. Cool fully.

  5. Glaze: Whisk glaze ingredients. Drizzle over cooled blondies, let set, slice into squares.

Notes

  • Use tart apples for best flavor balance.

  • Line pan with parchment for easy removal.

  • Cool blondies fully before glazing to prevent soaking.
