Description

Soft, spiced baked pumpkin donuts topped with a silky maple glaze—a cozy fall treat perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

Donuts: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 ½ tsp baking powder, 1 ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice, ¾ tsp salt, ¼ tsp baking soda, ½ cup melted unsalted butter, 1 cup packed light brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 cup pumpkin puree, 2 tsp vanilla extract.
Glaze: ¾ cup maple syrup, 1 ½ tbsp unsalted butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ cup confectioners’ sugar.

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and grease a donut pan.
2. Mix dry ingredients.
3. Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs, pumpkin, and vanilla.
4. Combine wet and dry; fill donut pan ⅔ full.
5. Bake 10–12 min until springy; cool.
6. For glaze: reduce maple syrup, whisk in butter, vanilla, salt, then sugar.
7. Dip cooled donuts into glaze; set before serving.

Notes

Use pure maple syrup for best flavor. Do not overmix batter to keep donuts tender. Can be frozen unglazed for up to 2 months.
